The comet passes the brightest star in Perseus, it is called Mirfak.

I had partly clear skies to take the photos below. Due to time constrains the polar alignment is not perfect, which is apparent on some of the images showing slight trailing especially on the "close up photos". The comet has grown considerably in size, and a striking "feature" of this comet is the green halo surrounding the comet. The green halo is fluorescing gas (mainly from C2 and CN molecules). While the bright yellow-white coma is dust reflecting the light from the Sun. Which is confirmed by looking at the spectrum from the comet (see below). Thanks for stopping by.
