Beuatiful pillars of green and pink aurora dancing over the mountain peaks of the Summørs Alps in the early morning of April 25 here are a couple of images from about 02.10 am.

The Pleiades (M45) goes with the name seven sisters, however Venus mingled in with the sisters on April 2nd and 3rd 2012. The Venus passage in front of the Pleiades was a beautiful sight. Here are a few images of the display.

On the evening of March 25, 2012 a celestial triangle was beautifully visible on the western sky. Venus, Jupiter and the Moon converged and shone through a thin layer of fog which gave them all a ghostly halo. A couple of photos.

The rain subsided, and the wind cleared the sky. In between and above the clouds the Jupiter - Venus conjunction was a very beautiful sight.

This photo of the Venus - Moon conjunction was taken at 20:43 CET on February 25, 2012 from Ørsta, Norway.
The captivating sight of the two celestial bodies was further enhanced by a beautiful iridescence.
Beautiful skylights as the Moon and Venus converged nicely on the sky on Saturday 25th 2012. Albeit a bit more shy, Jupiter, also took part in the sky show.

The Lunar X, also known as Werner X was beautifully visible on the night of January 30/31, 2012. This picture was taken just before the Moon was about to set behind a mountain.

The Moon only 1 day 8 hours and 12 minutes old displaying a very thin crescent. Only about 2 % illuminated.

October 8. The camera captured a total of 38 frames with Draconids. Here are the brightest captured on video
from about UT 18.30 to 21. Location: Ørsta, Norway.
Equipment: DMK 41AU02.AS, 4mm F/1.2 lens, tripod.

Strong auroral activity on September 26/27, 2011. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and raining most of the time. First time I used an umbrella while photographing the northern lights. These two images were taken at about am 01.00 local time.
A nice sunset on September 1, 2011. There were several active regions on the Sun.
Sunspots on August 3, 2011. From left to right we can see active regions AR1263, AR1261, and AR1260.
July 6, 2011. A fascinating sky show was staged by a powerful lightening storm. Here are a few images.
At about 23.30 (local time) on July 6, 2011. Clouds just before the thunderstorm.
At 23.53 July 6, 2011. A lightening flared up the sky, and quickly an intense thunder followed.

A nice slender moon on May 5, 2011. The moon phase was about 6 percent.
A "dramatic" sunset on April 30, 2011. A plane passed in-front of the Sun and created a nice effect.
